Sybilla of Cleves - Originally based on the portrait at right of Sybilla of Cleves, this German renaissance gown is made of purple brocade with purple taffeta. The skirt features rolled pleats. Since the client preferred the brustfleck (bust line trim) design in the portrait at left, that’s the final design which was re-created. The brustfleck is beaded, embroidered, silk metallic trim which was hand-dyed to match the gown. The gown laces closed in the front through rings sewn into the bodice. The sleeve puffs are white silk charmeuse and the hat is wired and trimmed with a dozen white ostrich plumes. Sybilla - $1,500.00 as shown, not including the jewelry and girdle.
